”I think the 2020 Gigondas Excellence will be in the same realm, if not better, although the Syrah component gives this a decidedly different feel. Based on 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, it has lots of cassis and black raspberry fruits, medium to full body, a ripe, polished, seamless mouthfeel, and some classic Gigondas ground pepper, leather, and garrigue-like nuances. ”I love the 2020 Gigondas Les Deux Parcelles and would certainly be happy to have bottles in my cellar. Savory garrigue, Provençal herbs, toasted nuts, and red and black fruits define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with terrific purity. It has the pretty, balanced, elegant style of the vintage and will evolve for 10-12+ years. This cuvée is 95% Grenache and 5% Syrah, from the limestone soils of the Cône de la Font des Papes lieu-dit, that spent two years all in tank.” (Jeb Dunnuck : 94 p)
